The project consists of dredging approximately 100,000 cy of sand by hydraulic cutter suction dredge from the sand trap inside Jupiter Inlet, Palm Beach County, Florida and pumping the material to the beach south of Jupiter Inlet per the project plans.

To protect sensitive sea turtle nesting and fisheries habitat, manatees, seagrass beds and oyster bars, the selected contractor must complete the project by April 30, 2025.

Last year, Ahtna Marine & Construction Company dredged approximately 139,000 cubic yards of sand from the the inlet’s sand trap and placed it on beaches south of the Jupiter Inlet to counter erosion.
