Dredging work on the approach channel and a berthing pocket at the Energy Dock Facility in Stanley Harbor (the Falkland Islands) started last week.
The main goal of the project is to create a deeper approach channel and a berthing pocket at the facility, previously known as the Temporary Dock Facility.
This very important work is being carried out by the jack-up barge Abeko Server 3, using a long-reach excavator to load two split hopper barges.
According to the Falkland Islands Maritime Authority, the tug Afon Alaw will tow them to a spoil ground about six nautical miles east of Mengeary Point.
The dredging program is being overseen by the Authority, and is set to continue for the next three months.
