In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport and Development said that the boat ramp and dock would be temporarily closed from Monday, 29 April, until Monday, 6 May, contingent on weather conditions.

The Ministry said: “The dredging project, permitted and approved by the Department of Environment, is a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at improving navigational access and ensuring the safety of marine traffic in the area.”

By removing sediment and debris from the waterway, the project aims to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the Boat Ramp and Dock for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

While every effort will be made to expedite the dredging process, the timeline for completion is contingent on favorable weather conditions, added the Ministry.
