The King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth has announced that marina works and dredging operations will be undertaken by the Portsmouth Offshore Group within Weevil Lake, Gosport, from 27 October to mid – November 2025.

The dredging works will be conducted by Jenkins Marine utilising the 30.1m LOA Backhoe Dredger ‘DOREEN DORWARD’.

The dredged material removed during the operations will be loaded into one of two 44.1m LOA self-propelled split hopper barges ‘NAB’ or ‘NEEDLES’ for disposal at the Nab spoil ground.

Operations will be conducted daily between 0600 and 2100 Monday to Friday, with the option to work weekends should such be required due to unfavourable weather during the weekdays.

The marina improvement works will be performed by Walcon Marine using the self-propelled split hopper barge ‘WALCON WARRIOR’ (LOA 21.0m) and assisted by the dumb barge ‘WALCON WOLF’ (LOA 24.0m).
