Southwind wins $7.5M North Carolina dredging contract

Southwind Construction from Evansville, Indiana, has won a $7.5 million firm-fixed-price contract for a maintenance dredging work in North Carolina.

Bids were solicited via the internet with three received, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) said.

Work will be performed in Hubert, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Carolina Beach, Newport, and Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2025.

According to DoD, fiscal 2022, 2023 and 2024 civil operation and maintenance funds in the amount of $7,559,168 were obligated at the time of the award.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, is the contracting activity.
