USACE’s Great Lakes Districts, consisting of the Buffalo District, Detroit District, and Chicago District, recently hosted a virtual meeting with stakeholders to discuss the needs of the shallow draft recreational harbors including funding issues and system requirements.

The meeting also addressed recent accomplishments, 2024 funded programs, and shallow draft harbor needs for 2025.

According to USACE, stakeholders provided feedback and further information on the trends of their respective harbors.

“ Partnerships deliver strong projects, ” said USACE .

“Working closely with our many stakeholders, understanding their needs and challenges, allows the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to deliver safe navigation across the Great Lakes Navigation System.”
