Thanks to the boating registration and license fees, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council recently scored a grant to dredge at Rye and Mornington’s Fishermans Beach.

According to the Better Boating Victoria, a cutter section dredge is in action at Rye removing sediment from the boat ramp. They’re expecting the process will take a couple of weeks.

The sand is deposited onto the beach through large pipes before being used to renourish the beach along the nearby shoreline.
