The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority has just announced that the beach nourishment works at Mounts Bay, Marengo, are officially done.

“ A huge shout out to our amazing community for your cooperation and patience throughout the works ,” the Authority said. “ The temporarily closed areas are now open, and we invite everyone to enjoy the magic of Mounts Bay once again .”

Over the last several weeks, approximately 40,000 cubic meters of sand was used to replenish and enhance the resilience of the eroding coastline.

“ Safeguarding this spectacular stretch of the coastline is of great importance, and we’ll continue working on long term adaptation plans for the area. We are actively monitoring the area and will return in the coming months as the need arises ,” concluded the Authority.
