Dredging begins at various locations in Bayou Texar

DKE Marine Services, Inc. has begun dredging areas in Bayou Texar around storm drainage outfall, the City of Pensacola announced earlier this week.

The work entails removal of accumulated sediments and debris from nine stormwater outfall locations.

The sites are include:

• Bayview Park
• Seville Outfall
• Lloyd Street
• Tyler Avenue
• Menendez Drive
• East Desoto Street
• Stowe Avenue
• East 34th Street
• Chipley Avenue

The $642,504.50 contract with DKE Marine Services, Inc. was approved at the City Council meeting on Oct. 12, 2023.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of May.
