A dredging program at the WD Close Carville Port facility was completed recently by UK Dredging and the Orca.

The process of dredging involves clearing the bed of a quay, or any other body of water in order to prepare the area for underwater construction projects.

“The Orca cleared the quay of debris and sediment in order to create a clear path which will support the vessel mobilisation and demobilisation services we provide,” said WD Close & Sons Ltd.

“This dredger is best suited to close-quarters dredging so was ideal for this project and used computerised control and monitoring systems to carry out a complete and effective job.”
