The Shire also announced that dredging of the Fascine Channel is underway now, and is expected to last until late November.

Works include revegetation, sand fencing and brush matting of dredge material on Pelican Point sandspit.

The two dredging gigs are part of the $7 million multifaceted Carnarvon Fascine Entryway and Boat Harbour Pen Project, announced in 2020, to deliver improved ocean access for boat owners in Carnarvon.
