MTCC begins work on Holhudhoo Shore Protection Project

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) started the physical works on the N. Holhudhoo Harbor Development and Shore Protection Project earlier this week.

Also, the dredging works on the new harbor basin are currently ongoing at the site.

The scope of works for the project includes:

• 10,614cbm new harbor dredging operations,

• 1,375cbm dredging for detached ramp area,

• 5,303cbm for land reclamation operations,

• construction of a 570m breakwater,

• a 14m rock boulder revetment,

• a 375m geobag revetment,

• an 89m quay wall etc.

The value of the project is MVR 43.2 million ($2.8 million).
