UK Dredging (UKD), part of Associated British Ports (ABP), and Damen recently signed a contract for construction of a new state of the art Water Injection Dredger (WID).

Last month, UKD officials visited Rotterdam for a tour of Damen’s shipyard, where their new Shoalbuster 2711 WID will be built.

Damen Shoalbusters are versatile, multi-purpose vessels, designed to work in shallow, as well as deeper waters.

Their design allows them to perform a variety of operations from towing/pushing to dredging, and buoy/anchor handling in both inland and coastal waters.

World-renowned for its versatility, the new Shoalbuster will enable improved efficiency and flexibility for UKD’s fleet.
