Kim Hooks McMahon officially christened the new 27-inch cutter suction dredger (CSD) Lorraine Hooks yesterday, on behalf of the Mike Hooks family.
“The Lorraine represents our forward-thinking commitment to our people, to the natural environment, and to the development of sustainable infrastructure along the Gulf Coast for generations to come,” the company said.
The newbuild will be deployed on both coastal restoration and navigation dredging projects in Louisiana and across the region to improve climate resiliency and strengthen maritime infrastructure.
The 300-ft dredger was built at Southwest Shipyard, LP in Galveston, TX. C-Job was responsible for the full design scope, including the majority of the dredge equipment – on behalf of SPI/Mobile Pulley Works.
