In 2020, the Port Authority of Douala, Cameroon, expanded their fleet with the Royal IHC 3,000 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Mont Mandara to maintain the access canal to the Port of Douala.
The current project, the expansion of the Port of Pointe-Noire in Congo, is a true reflection of the exceptional flexibility that the TSHD offers.
“It’s great to see that the expansion of the port is made possible by the use of local dredging capacity,” Royal IHC said.
“The Mont Mandara is an Easydredge®, one of our popular cost-effective standardized TSHDs.”
The dredger was constructed in Poland and sea trials were completed in the Baltic Sea and off the Dutch coast.
