One year after the first phase of the contract execution for the capital and maintenance dredging of Payra Port started, Payra Port Authority and Jan De Nul Group again kicked off the second phase of this very important project.
The access channel dredging works have started in full force over the last weeks and are scheduled to be completed by June 2023.
Jan De Nul’s Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) Diogo Cão, De Lapérouse and Francesco di Giorgio have commenced work already whilst several more TSHDs are currently being mobilised.
In addition, two of Jan De Nul’s largest Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD), JFJ De Nul and Ibt Battuta, recently started the dredging works in Payra Port to assist the other vessels to complete the works in time.
