Maritime Constructions’ Jordan Graham and crew – with the cutter suction dredger (CSD) Marcon – arrived on the spot yesterday to clear up the Kangaroo Island ferry terminal area.

Working for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT), they will remove approximately 10,000m3 of material to enable ongoing safe passage for ferry operations .

Dredged sand will be placed onto the adjacent beach in Hog Bay.

“Weather could not have been better, and here’s hoping it stays that way for the next few weeks. Certainly a busy time for tourism on KI, so all the more important keep ferry operations unimpeded,” said Simon Spencer , the Projects and Environmental Manager at Maritime Constructions.

Kangaroo Island lies off the mainland of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide.
