2020 is the international Year of Action on climate adaptation.

Van Oord is ahead of the wave: last year, it announced its Climate Adaptation Action Plan.

The ambition is to stimulate and accelerate business activities that play a role in protecting populations and landscapes against the risks of flooding driven by climate change.

In January 2021, the Climate Adaptation Summit (CAS) will take place online. There, many global stakeholders and participants will share their progress and knowledge, to accelerate decision making and climate action for a more resilient future.

In preparation for this 2021 event, Van Oord will launch its plans during the online ‘Road to CAS’ session. The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management will host the event Thursday, 22 October.

This ‘Road to CAS’ event consist of interactive webinars and focuses on sharing Dutch climate adaptation projects.

During the event, Van Oord will host a session elaborating on their Climate Adaptation Action Plan. The company will shed light on two of their coastal protection projects that include Nature Based Solutions.
