Boskalis, a Dutch dredging and heavylift company, has successfully wrapped up a coastal protection project at Katwijk, a coastal municipality and town in the province of South Holland, situated in the mid-western part of the Netherlands.

“We recently carried out beach replenishment work near Katwijk for this reason, finishing in perfect time for the summer holiday season,” Boskalis said in its latest announcement.

The Dutch giant – on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat – maintains large sections of the Dutch coastline to protect the Netherlands against the sea.

Rijkswaterstaat annually nourishes the coast with 12 million cubic meters of sand.
