Bay Head Beach Replenishment Project Set for May

Sand placement operations in Bay Head (NJ) are scheduled to begin in May with estimated completion in late June, reports the Army Corps, Philadelphia District.

According to the Corps, there will be two pipe landings in Bay Head.

The contractor, Weeks Marine Inc. will position the first pipe landing just north of Karge St.

The work will first proceed north through Bay Head to the Maryland Ave outfall pipe in Point Pleasant Beach after which they will flip and proceed south into Bay Head with Dredge Magdalen.

The second pipe landing will be just south of Egbert St. The operations will briefly proceed north and then proceed south with Dredges RN Weeks and BE Lindholm.

The Bay Head beachfill project will be the last phase of the Manasquan Inlet to Barnegat Inlet, also known as the Northern Ocean County, Coastal Storm Risk Management project.

The project includes the following municipalities: Point Pleasant Beach; Bay Head; Mantoloking; Brick Township; Toms River Township; Lavallette; Seaside Heights; Seaside Park; and Berkeley Township.
