Jan De Nul was recently awarded one of the biggest dike reinforcement operations in the Netherlands.

Between July 2018 and January 2019, the company’s TSHD Bartolomeu Dias will dredge 5.5 million m³ of sand for the new safety dune and connected nature area.

The sand is being dredged in the North Sea and transported to the project site by the Bartolomeu Dias, where she is placing it onto the beach through a floating pipeline.

Bulldozers will subsequently spread the sand on land. The works are expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

The company has just released a video of the Prins Hendrik Sand Dike works.
