Manson Secures Galveston Harbor Dredging Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas, recently awarded a contract for maintenance dredging of the Galveston Harbor and Channel. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the $10.1 million contract was given to Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington, on September 28th 2018.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth, Texas, recently awarded a contract for maintenance dredging of the Galveston Harbor and Channel.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the $10.1 million contract was given to Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington, on September 28th 2018.

During the works, the contractor will remove over 1 million cubic yards of dredged material from the Galveston Harbor area.

The dredging of Galveston Harbor will be performed using a hopper dredge or mechanical dredge and scows with offshore placement into Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) 1.

USACE estimates that the maintenance dredging work will be completed by February 6, 2019.
