Second Round of Consultation Set for Centerm Expansion Project

Business & Finance

The Centerm Expansion Project team has invited the public to learn more about, and provide feedback on, the proposed Centerm Expansion Project during the consultation period from May 15 to June 2.

“Participants are invited to learn more about proposed construction activities, details regarding a proposed Community Investment Program, and how feedback received during the first round of consultation is being considered,” said Port of Vancouver in its release.

This consultation is part of the port authority’s Project and Environmental Review process.

Centerm is an existing container terminal operated by DP World Vancouver on the south shore of Vancouver’s inner harbor.

The proposed project is part of the port authority’s plans to accommodate Canada’s growing trade.

If approved, the project would involve a series of changes to increase the number of containers that can be handled at the terminal by approximately two-thirds, while increasing the terminal footprint by 15 per cent.
