Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) has just announced that the VIMS Tidal Wetlands Workshop will be held Tuesday, May 2, at the College of William & Mary School of Education in Williamsburg, VA.

The workshop theme for this year is “ Sustainable Shorelines in Action: Successful Applications & Incentive Program s” and the workshop focus will be on successful actions to achieve sustainable tidal shorelines in the Commonwealth.

According to CCRM, the planned program will highlight the increasing use of living shoreline projects and the successful implementation of incentive programs, including expedited permitting, financial support, and earning credits for the Chesapeake Bay TMDL and reduced flood insurance premiums.

Invited speakers include representatives from local, state and federal agencies and others directly involved with sustainable shoreline actions.
