A company based in Adria, Italy, Vittoria Shipyard recently launched a dredger (Yard No. C862) named ‘Maria Vittoria Z’ for the Chioggia based customer Zeta S.r.l.

The newbuild, featuring Liebherr HS 8300 HD heavy duty cycle crawler crane, will be used for excavation and dredging of the seabed and channels in the Mediterranean Sea.

The strong upper-carriage of the HS 8300 HD – ideal for the high dynamic loads – will be mounted on a pedestal with the weight of approx. 240t. The crane will be equipped with a main boom of 41m and an underwater 2-rope hydraulic clamshell with a capacity of 20m³.

The ‘Maria Vittoria Z’, which can be classified as a hopper dredger, has a length of 84.2m and beam of 19m with a full load displacement of 7,400t. Reaching the speed of 11 knots, the vessel has capacity to carry 5,200t of dredged material.
