Business & Finance

With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 10 months, marine works involving dredging operations, removal of breakwater and piling works will be carried out inside Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter.

The works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including one grab dredger, two hopper barges, two derrick barges and three tugboats, according to the Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP).

The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 30 meters around the dredger and each barge will be established.

A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will also be established within the works area, MARDEP said.
