MTCC Wins Guraidhoo Revetment Project

The Maldivian Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure last week signed a contract with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for the construction of the Guraidhoo revetment project.

The ceremony, held on December 17th 2015 at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure office, was attended by the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, MP for Guraidhoo, Mr. Hussain Manik Dhon Manik, MTCC CEO, Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem and the senior officials from the Ministry and MTCC.

Under the agreement, the shore protection operations will be carried out only for the newly reclaimed area.

The main works of the project will include construction of 800 m revetment, construction of 4 x 20 m length groynes and construction of 1154 m geotube along the south coastline.

Dr. Mohamed Muizzu signed the agreement on behalf the Government, and Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem signed the contract on behalf of the MTCC.
