The Environment Agency will be hosting two exhibitions during November 2015 to share their latest plans with the community about the Newhaven flood alleviation scheme.

The EA, together with Lewes District Council, is working to develop a scheme that will reduce flood risk from the sea and the river along the Ouse valley.

The scheme will cover both banks of Newhaven, including the commercial areas near the port.

Construction of the £17 million Newhaven scheme is planned to start in autumn 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by 2019.

The exhibitions will be held at the Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven on:

These exhibitions will provide an opportunity for the local community, businesses and interested groups to talk to the project team about the scheme and provide feedback on the current plans.
