Neil Lawson, in his capacity as Chairman of PIANC, hosted a member-only PIANC networking event on Thursday, 10 September, at Cardno’s Sydney office.
PIANC is the global non-political and non-profit organisation providing guidance for sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure for ports and waterways.
PIANC members heard guest speaker, Dr. Todd Bridges, Senior Research Scientist for Environmental Science from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, discuss issues currently facing ports in the USA, which may be relevant to Australia in three to five years’ time.
Todd manages the $6 million per annum Dredging Operations Environmental Research program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and is the Director of the Center for Contaminated Sediments. He is also a key member of PIANC EnviCom the Environmental Commission of PIANC International as well as playing an active role in PIANC activities in USA where he works closely with the Port Authorities.
