Italdraghe technicians were onsite in Guyana recently to supervise the connecting up of a custom-built Italdraghe SGT 180B cutter suction dredger to an onshore gold-extraction selection plant.

The 28 meter-long dismountable dredger, designed to work at a maximum depth of 15 meters, is currently working in a river basin in conjunction with a booster station, also supplied by Italdraghe.

The dredger features an extremely tough Italdraghe dredge pump manufactured from Cr-hard cast iron with a hardness of 600 Brinell and a wear-resistant manganese four-blade steel impeller measuring 565 mm in diameter.
