The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Buffalo District is dredging Sandusky Harbor in Sandusky, Ohio.

"By removing sediment, we help ensure large vessels can safely access the Great Lakes Navigation System, which carries approximately 2.6 million tons of cargo annually to local and regional industries," USACE said.

Maintaining harbors like Sandusky supports Ohio’s economy, the Great Lakes region, and the Nation, USACE concluded.
