Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd has awarded Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sdn Bhd and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd an RM306mil contract to construct and complete the proposed Samalaju Port Development Project in Sarawak.

The company informed Bursa Malaysia on Thursday that the project contracted to the joint venture (JV) between Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit and China Harbour Engineering encompassed the construction and completion of breakwater and associated works package for phase 1 of the Samalaju Port Development Project.

“The duration of this contract shall be 30 months from the notice to commence work, which would be issued separately ,” it said.

Bintulu Port Holdings had issued the letter of acceptance to the JV on July 16, 2013.
