Norway: Officials Seek Bids for Myre Dredging Project

Coastal Administration Ålesund has invited bidders to submit their offers for the Myre dredging project.

This development program will include the expansion and deepening of the sailing approach to Myre to an 80m width and 8.5m below sea chart zero.

The removed material will be put in a disposal site at Kartneset, where a jetty shall also be constructed.

This program also includes the construction of 4 breakwaters.

The largest of them, breakwater A, will be located at the island Gjæva and will be approx. 560m long (measured at the upper edge) with a height of 7.2m above sea chart zero, while breakwater B over Myreskjæra, as a direct extension of breakwater A, will be approx. 855m long (measured at upper edge), and  5.5m high above sea chart zero.

Breakwater C goes from Vorneset with approx. length of 200m, height 5.5m above sea chart zero. Breakwater D is to be built for the landowner out from breakwater C, with a of length 100m and height 4.5m above sea chart zero.

The project period is 30 months from the date of contract award, and the deadline for this tender is August 26, 2013.
