From October 22 to 25, 2012 a meeting of employees of ecological departments of all the branches of the enterprise chaired by Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety V.Y.Vanyukov was held in Nakhodka and Vladivostok to summarize the results of the FSUE “Rosmorport” environmental protection activities in 2011-2012 and to outline plans for 2013.

The participants discussed a wide range of issues related to the assessment of the current condition and prospects for the development of the environmental protection activities of the enterprise, formation of an integrated systematic approach to the environmental protection management and prevention of breach of the environmental protection legislation.

In particular, they considered issues of broadening the range of services rendered by the enterprise in the seaports of the Russian Federation on collection, transportation and disposal of shipboard wastes, ensuring readiness of the enterprise structural subdivisions to eliminate emergency oil leaks in seaports. The participants discussed the problems of meeting the requirements of the environmental legislation during enterprise activities, in particular, during dredging.

Also the participants of the meeting pointed out the necessity to strengthen supervision for all the structural subdivisions of the enterprise to meet the requirements of the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation.

In the framework of the events program the participants of the meeting visited the seaports of Vostochny and Vladivostok, where they observed the technical capabilities and the arrangement of the procedure on collection and recycling of shipboard wastes in the Vostochny and Vladivostok branches, and also visited the educational and training center for fighting oil leaks in the Institute of Sea Protection and Shelf Exploration of the State Sea University named after G.Y.Nevelsky.
