Bangladesh: Government to Procure Two Cutter Suction Dredgers

The government will soon procure two cutter suction dredgers to carry out regular dredging at Pashur Channel to improve the navigability of the Pashur River, Mongla.

“ One of the two dredgers is expected to reach by October next ,” Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan told Parliament responding to a starred question of Noni Gopal Mondal.

He said two projects have been taken to increase the navigability of the Pashur River.

The minister said a Tk 122.29 crore project titled “Pashur Channel Outer Bar Dredging” to carry out 31.99 lakh cubic meters of dredging is awaiting approval.
