Malaysia: Ministry Inspects Batang Rajang Dredging Site

A few days ago, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has inspected the dredged area in Batang Rajang near Pulau Kerto.

The Minister Dato Sri Douglas Uggah Embas said: “ We are studying the dredging impact now .”

According to theborneopost.com, he was accompanied by Second Finance Minister and Local Government and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Lanang MP Datuk Tiong Thai King, Sibu Resident Sim Kok Kee, Temenggong Vincent Lau and Drainage and Irrigation Department director Wong Siu Hieng.

These dredging works, which were wrapped up in June, took five months to complete at a cost of RM10 million.
