Buzzard Rock Resort and Marina raised the “Clean Marina” flag a few days ago in a ceremony signifying its commitment to preserve and protect the environment at Lake Barkley.
The flag ceremony officially confirmed that the marina recently completed all requirements set forth in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clean Marina Program.
Lt. Col. James A. DeLapp , Nashville District commander , presented Owner Wayne Pederson with the Clean Marina Flag and congratulated him for the marina’s certification as a “Clean Marina” and its commitment to reducing pollution and erosion in the Cumberland River watershed.
“It’s a big day and Mr. Pederson it’s a great privilege to be here, and have this be my first opportunity to present one of the Clean Marina flags and to have one of these ceremonies,” DeLapp said. “And you’re the first on Lake Barkley, which is a great achievement.”
