At the October 8th meeting, the Council also approved a contingency in the amount of $1.65 million establishing a total project budget of $18,133,500.

The Phipps Ocean Park project requires placement of approximately 750,000 cubic yards of beach compatible material onto the park’s beach.

The sand will be dredged from a nearshore borrow source and placed hydraulically within the limited project area.

The project is expected to kick off later this year and be complete by May 2024.
