The pontoons of the Cygnus, which we are building on stock, have recently arrived in Sliedrecht,” the shipbuilder said in the update. “In the coming months, the other components will be manufactured and delivered.”

The Cygnus is a 100% Dutch product. The pontoons are manufactured in the Netherlands, and all other major components, such as the cutter ladder, spud carriage, control cabin, and the complete installation, are produced in the vicinity of Sliedrecht.

Sliedrecht, known as the cradle of the dredging industry, offers the perfect location for the production of this high-quality dredging equipment.

By opting for a fully electric drive system and no hydraulic oil systems, DE Klop is taking a major step in reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing environmental impact, without compromising the performance and efficiency expected of a modern cutter suction dredger.
