Dravo S.A. has won a contract to complete the dredging operations at the Port of Gioia Tauro.
According to the Port Authority, the EUR 5 million project is set to bring the southern turning basin and Eranova quay depth to 17 meters, while depths across the channel will range from 17 to 19 meters.
Also, these works will maintain access and safe maneuvering for vessels exceeding 400 meters in length and 64 meters in beam and with capacities above 24,000 TEUs.
The work will be conducted with a trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), and the removed material will be reused for a submerged barrier near the shore.
