Høj Nordic Marine Contractor carried out an extensive maintenance dredging project at the entrance channel to Asaa Harbor in the Northern part of Jutland recently.
The works involved removing significant volumes of sediment from the navigation channel for disposal at an approved offshore disposal site, while part of the dredged material was relocated to a designated bypass area.
Also, the project required the relocation of large volumes of sediment to restore the required navigational depths in the entrance channel and ensure safe and reliable access to the harbor.
According to the company, the works were carried out through close coordination between the excavator dredger Elisabeth Høj and a local contractor operating a specially modified excavator designed for very shallow-water conditions.
While Elisabeth Høj performed the maintenance dredging within the navigation channel, the excavator continuously relocated the dredged material away from the work area.
