At Newton Ferrers, TMS recently delivered a dredging and remediation project within the River Yealm Estuary, removing 340m³ of contaminated sediment under strict MMO Marine License conditions.

According to TMS, the challenge went beyond dredging.

Tide-restricted working windows, severe winter weather and a live 600mm sewer main beneath the dredge zone demanded precise control.

Delivery included:

  • 340m³ of contaminated sediment dredged and verified,
  • Daily QA checksheets covering water levels, plant positioning, survey calibration, and excavation depths,
  • As-found, interim, and as-dredged survey packages issued to the client,
  • Waste classification, haulage, and verified disposal via full WTN documentation,
  • Pre-works, progress, and post-dredge notifications submitted to MMO within statutory timeframes.

"Using 3D GPS-guided excavation, continuous survey verification and carefully coordinated barge operations, our team delivered the required remediation while protecting the buried asset," TMS said. The result was zero environmental or safety incidents and full compliance throughout.
