After months of delays, the dredging operations on the main St. Clairsville Reservoir are now underway.

The City of St. Clairsville, Ohio, approved the bid for the project in December, but freezing temperatures led to the work being stalled until the ground stabilized.

This week, two local companies – Miller Excavating and Theaker Excavating – began the dredging operations.

According to the officials, the dredging project’s completion will take roughly two weeks.

The city said that they are expecting to add more than a million gallons of reserve with this dredging program.
