After a postponement of the activities and a pause in the project, work on creating a deeper and better shipping channel at pier 36 in Kristiansand Harbor is now back in full swing.

The work in Kristiansand was first started in 2022 in close collaboration with a Norwegian contractor, but was put on hold due to unforeseen challenges.

After a new tender, Høj Nordic Marine Contractor is now back on the project to complete development of the quay 36.

Last autumn, Høj Nordic returned to the project to deliver couple of weeks of intensive work. This included dredging the rock after extensive blasting of the seabed, as well as dredging in front of the new quay extension.

The quay 36 in Kristiansand Harbor is being extended by about 80 meters to the east. To achieve the necessary water depth, both dredging and blasting will be conducted this year in the shipping channel and in front of the new quay 36.
