According to the town officials, the improvements aim to ensure the long-term sustainability and functionality of these community spaces.

The project will include:

  • Lake dredging and liner replacements;
  • Sediment and seepage testing;
  • Pump replacements and upgrades;
  • Turf removal to prevent runoff;
  • Installation of aerator equipment;
  • Reconditioning of pump stations.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2025, beginning with Cosmo Park. The water level drawdown will begin in mid-January, the Town said.

These updates will cause a closure of the Cosmo Dog Park beach and lake from mid-January through summer 2025.
