This is a very important storm protection project for Mexico Beach that has taken years of hard work and planning to make happen.

In fact, the Mexico Beach Community Development Council began work on this project prior to the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael.

The dredging contractor, Weeks Marine will deliver nearly one million cubic yards of sand to meet the designed beach construction template.

The beach nourishment project will cover the entire approximate three-mile City of Mexico Beach shoreline from the Mexico Beach Canal at the western end to the Gulf County line at the eastern end.
