The land reclamation operations at Matnog Port in the Philippines are officially underway.
According to the Sorsogon Provincial Information Office (SPIO), this initiative is part of an expansion project aimed at addressing the congestion in this vital shipping route of the country.
Matnog Port is one of the busiest in the region, playing host to millions of people crossing the San Bernardino Strait to Northern Samar annually.
The port, located 65 kilometers from Sorsogon City and 646 kilometers from Manila, is the jump off point to Visayas and vice versa.
