Port of Rijeka wraps up $18.9M dredging project

The Port of Rijeka, Croatia, has completed $18.9 million infrastructure upgrade project that will allow the Adriatic Gate container (AGCT) terminal to process large container vessels.

The program included dredging works of the seabed in the length of 100 meters along the coastal wall of the southern pier at the Adriatic Gate container terminal.

In the intake zone, the depth of the sea along the coastal wall has been increased from 11.6 meters to 16.5 meters.

The works, conducted by Italian construction company Nuova CO. ED. MAR, began on August 24, 2020, and ended on September 24, 2024.

The technical inspection was carried out on October 22, 2024, and the issuance of the use permit is in progress.
