The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is planning to continue maintenance dredging and disposal activities associated with the federally authorized Bayou Coden navigation project in Mobile County, Alabama.
According to the Army Corps, the proposed project is continued operation and maintenance (O&M) dredging and placement associated with the authorized Federal navigation project at Bayou Coden.
The project calls for the excavation of approximately 80,000 cubic yards of silts and sands over a five year period. The proposed dredging action would be performed with a tolerance of up to 2 feet of advanced maintenance plus 2 feet of overdepth dredging.
The method of dredging will be via a hydraulic dredge or a mechanical dredge.
The deadline for sending comments on the Bayou Coden dredging project is October 30, 2024.
