Dredging

Foyle & Marine Dredging has completed of a rock delivery project for its client Aggregate Industries UK as part of essential coastal protection efforts on the Norfolk coast.

Our team at Foyle & Marine Dredging utilized two tugs and two barges to transfer rock from the delivery vessel to shore, even when faced with challenging weather conditions,” said Foyle & Marine.

The rock was used to bolster the coastline, providing protection against erosion and safeguarding local communities.

Along the north Norfolk coastline, the cliffs are susceptible to coastal erosion.

The prevention of coastal erosion is termed coast protection and is provided by Maritime District Councils such as North Norfolk District Council (NNDC).

The council is responsible for both constructing and maintaining the defenses on its frontage, as set out in the Shoreline Management Plans.
